How to Make a Tiny Party Sandwich
  Let's make Tiny Party Sandwiches!

Any party sandwich ALWAYS is the tastiest on homemade bread!

Find all my favorite homemade bread recipes using a large kitchen mixer here in my cookbook - "Make it Special! Homemade with Love"

You always trim the crusts from the bread for a tea party sandwich!  The sandwiches can then be cut into shapes with a cookie cutter shape or simply cut into 1/4ths forming little squares or slice diagonally for triangular shapes. If you leave them open face - add a little wooden party pick to hold the toppings in place. Always trim the crust and cut out the shape before adding the sandwich fillings so you won't waste any of the good stuff that goes inside the bread.

Now for ideas of what to put inside your slices of bread to make a yummy sandwich!

Try some of these combinations to make up some delicious sandwiches for your next party or just simply to enjoy on an ordinary day.

*Thin Sliced Ham & Cheese (spread with mustard or butter) - Add a pickle slice or olive with a party pick if you choose to leave these open-faced.
*Chicken Salad
*Peanut Butter & Honey
*Pimento Cheese
*Thin sliced cucumbers (spread with butter)
*Jam (Choose from preserves like blueberry, raspberry, fig or peach)

Note: *Butter used as a spread is always a smart choice if your sandwiches will be sitting out for a period of time vs. mayonnaise, which isn't safe to consume unless it is kept chilled and could only sit out on the buffet for a short period of time.

Note: I always save all the trimmed crusts after making party sandwiches and pop them in a zip-seal bag and store in my freezer.  At a later date, I use them to make homemade croutons by cutting them into small bite-size pieces -- find my recipe here. The trimmings of crust from your bread can also be pulverized in a blender or food processor to make breadcrumbs that can be used in a variety of recipes.
